Welcome

A gentler way to move, breathe and rest

Our live sessions are shaped like a river. They begin with energising movement, widen into steady breathing and settle into deep, quiet rest.

You do not need to be flexible, experienced or even particularly calm when you arrive. Come as you are and we will meet you there.

Every class is taught live by a certified teacher, so you are guided throughout, from the comfort of your own home or in person for our children's groups.

The River Rhythm way

Flow. Breath. Be.

01

Flow through energising movement.

Classes open with gentle warm-ups and mindful asana that wake the body up, release stiffness and build steady energy.
02

Breath through guided pranayama.

Pranayama guides the breath into a calm, even rhythm, which helps the mind settle and the nervous system soften.
03

Be in stillness through yoga nidra and meditation.

Yoga nidra and meditation close every session, leaving you rested, clear and quietly content.

Yoga as a complete practice

At The River Rhythm, we teach yoga as a complete practice rather than focusing solely on physical postures.

Our teaching approach places particular emphasis on practices that encourage the body's natural relaxation response and support parasympathetic nervous system activity. Often called the body's "rest and digest" system, it helps us slow down, restore balance, conserve energy and experience the calm and stillness that can naturally arise through regular yoga practice.

Our regular classes are sequenced from energising practices to calming practices, helping participants transition from activity and movement into relaxation, stillness, and meditation.

Every regular session is carefully guided live and includes

  • Gentle warm-up practices
  • Yoga asana (postures)
  • Pranayama (breathing techniques)
  • Yoga nidra (guided deep relaxation)
  • Meditation
